Meet [ & surf ] the
Wild West Coast
Europeans named the island of Nootka after a nuu-chah-nulth language word meaning “go around, go around.”
Rugged and wild, there just aren’t too many places in the world left like this. Swells smash the coast all year round making it very consistent for surf . The winter storms bring big seas, gentle swells come with the summer sun, and in our opinion, the fall and spring are the prime-time with nice mild weather and perfect swell . The largest island off the west coast of Vancouver Island, Nootka Island, and its wave-rich coastline, also has an abundance of wildlife in the water and along the shoreline. It is remote and difficult to get to, and that’s why it’s the perfect place to host our adventures.
